Ben’s make-up
So Ben found mama’s make-up the other day. No worries though, from the pictures, it looks more like he was getting ready to go to a tiger game, than a night out dancing.

One of the disadvantages of living in a condo is that we can’t put up a swing set for Ben. Now that we have Ben’s new play area in the basement, it occurred to me… why does the swing set have to be outside? Two utility hooks and a swing later, we were in business! Not only have we not violated any condo Nazi rules, we aren’t restricted by the weather either! I am pretty sure that Ben likes it too given that he has already logged an hour of flight time in the seat. We just need to add the cup holder for his sippy cup.
Ben was talking on my old cell phone yesterday,
Ben: Hello
David: Who are you talking to, Ben?
Ben: Mama
David: What does she want?
Ben: A horsey
Sunday we went to the mall and as we pulled in, Mr. Ben says he wants to go on the “up down horses.” I love learning how his mind works!
I always liked this tree that sits next to the people that live behind us. Over the weekend it was struck by lightning while we were out. The neighbors were home and said it was pretty scary; I can only imagine! More pictures here.
We accomplished something just short of a miracle today. We cleared out half the basement so that we could create a play area for Ben. It is pretty simple right now, with some new carpet and the gate that used to keep him safe in the family room. So far, he seems to love it!
We had a great day at the cider mill last weekend. Ben had lots of fun at the petting zoo, although he wasn’t thrilled about being on the ground in the pen with the animals. Probably because most of them were at eye level with him. He also had a blast in the kids area with all the play structures. We didn’t do the corn maze this time; figured that would just assure us having to call in the rescue dogs. ![]()
