Latest helmet update

Friday, July 29th, 2005

So we had a visit with the helmet technician today. It couldn’t have been better news. So they measure diagonally across his head in both directions. At the beginning, he had a 1/2 inch difference in the measurements. Now the difference is only 1/4 inch. So the tech said that we only have a month or so to go before we can be done with the helmet! Believe it or not, that is going to be good and bad. Good for all the obvious reasons, but bad for Ben because he has become a little too accustom to the protection. Now when he has the helmet off, something just grazes near his head and he goes off the deep end. So being without it may be more of an adjustment then being with it.

Ben’s First Birthday

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

It couldn’t have been a better day. Ben’s birthday started at the beach with his cousins. He loves swimming. We got him this little floaty that he just sits in and splashes. It wasn’t too crouded, so there was plenty of room for Uncle Gordon to throw Ben’s cousins in the water. Then it was back home for BBQ and cake. Speaking of cake, Ben had his own. Check it out.

Weekend away in D.C.

Monday, July 18th, 2005

I had training at my headquarters outside Washington D.C., so I asked Mo if she wanted to join me after the training for the weekend. She and our friend Christina ended up flying out for an incredibly hot, humid weekend in the Capital!
