So Ben got a new walker from Babies R Us after trying out his cousin Nick’s and loving it. He is all over the kitchen now (the only place in the house we don’t have carpet). He and Mo invented a new game called, Capture the Mom. It is pretty easy, and he always wins. He has even discovered the drawers, so let the baby-proofing begin!

Ben is feeling better, which makes everyone feel better. He even reached a milestone today. Mo had him at his kick and play, laying on the ground. She went into the other room to get something and by the time she got back, he had rolled himself over onto his stomach. By the look on his face, he was thoroughly confused, but had a big smile when he saw his mom as if to say, “I meant to do that!”

I have said “poor little guy” about a million times in the last couple weeks. Ben has always had some congestion (despite our prayers that he wouldn’t inherit my allergies), but he has actually been sick for the last week or so. Lots of coughing, and the last week has been the worst. He sounds like he is about to hack up a lung. But as always, he is a trooper. He is rarely fazed by anything. He is in his swing right now catching a nap. He had one of his hacking fits a couple minutes ago. It was bad enough that both Mo and I came from the other end of the house to see if he was ok. I knew he would be ok when he managed to get his pacifier back into his mouth on his own (for the first time) and fall back to sleep. Poor little guy.
By the way, how‚Äôs that for remembering to post when things happen. If this was being covered by WDIV, we would be running the “Breaking News” screen for sure. Sorry it had to be a story about Ben‚Äôs phlegm.

As always, he doesn’t cry for long. Even though he has been sick for the last week or two, if we are smiling, so is he. He’s also sleeping through the night again after a short break from that over the holidays. A little rice in his bottle took care of that. And once again, as soon as we think we have things under control, we have new things to learn. That’s what it is all about though.
We had a great Christmas. He got tons of new toys from our friends and family. Heck, he doesn’t even know what all he has yet. I don’t need to tell you how great our first Christmas as a family was, you can see for yourself in the Ben gallery starting here.
I can’t remember any funny stories at the moment, but I am sure there were plenty. I’ll try to do a better job remembering all of you when Ben does something cute.

It never feels like a long time between blogs until I look at the date. And as soon as I sit down…. Ben cries. Seriously. I’ll have to come back later.
