Giada Vianne

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Giada Vianne was born today (2-25-2009) at 3:02pm. She is a precious little girl who weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing wonderfully. In fact, the labor couldn’t have gone easier. It only took about 30 minutes and 4 BIG pushes. We hope to be going home late tomorrow or sometime on Friday.

Thank you for all the well wishes. Click the photo below to see more of our new little girl.

Now… time for some rest. :)

Cake on a quarter?

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Ben was putting some change into his bank when he picked up a Maryland quarter and said, “Daddy, a birthday cake!”

P.S. Monique is still pregnant. Any day now!

Too much TV

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

So Ben was off school yesterday because he was a little under the weather. Based on what we found on the kitchen table after he went to bed, I’m thinking that he might have spent too much time watching theĀ inaugurationĀ on TV.

It appears we have a police motorcade in front of a castle with officers on the roof.

Man, he cracks me up!

Pregnancy update: Going Home…

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Good morning!

We just got some good news… we’re going home today. After being taken off the magnesium last night, Monique has only had a handful of mild contractions. So no medication is necessary, just bed rest/couch rest for the time being and follow up with her doctor this week to see how things progress.

Hopefully, with a little luck, you won’t be hearing anything else from us on this until the baby arrives on schedule. :)

Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes.

And the ultrasound says…

Ben’s first Tigers game

Monday, September 29th, 2008

We took Ben to his first Tigers game yesterday and all I can say is that I wish going to a game was like that when I was a kid. We really only spent the first three innings in our seats. After that, we walked around the park, got some merchandise, had some snacks, Ben practiced pitching and we rode the ferris wheel of baseballs. While on the ferris wheel, we found out that the kids get to run the bases after every Sunday game. So straight to that line we went. It took a while since the Tigers went into extra innings (and sadly lost). Once the game was over and the line started moving, it all went pretty quick. He had a blast! On the way out, Ben got a game ball from a police officer! Last but not least, it was off to The Pancake House for some pumpkin pancake dinner. Beat that! :)

I smell…

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Last night, we went to Longhorn for dinner.

When we got out of the car, I said, “Mmmm, I smell the steaks.”

To which, Ben responded, “Mmmm, I smell the chocolate milk!”

Overheard at bathtime

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Ok, so for me to tell this story, you’re going to have to just accept the fact that Ben decided that the toy he wanted to take in the bath with him was his police officer doll… and of course it had to disrobe.

Ben: Mama, where is his penis?
Monique: He doesn’t have one, because he doesn’t need one.
Ben: Why not?
Monique: Well, what do you do with your penis?
Ben: Go pee.
Monique: So since he is a toy, he doesn’t go pee, so he doesn’t need a penis.
Ben: (turns it around, looks at its rear) He poops?!?!?
